Emerald Grain
PIA Group incubated this business and was a major shareholder throughout its first 10 years of operations. Emerald Grain is a commodity trading and supply chain firm that runs agricultural commodity price instruments including Pools and cash purchases, as well as associated logistics and transport services.
In 2010 the Emerald shareholders sold 50% of the shareholding to Sumitomo Corporation of Japan. In 2014 it sold the remaining 50% and Emerald became a fully owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation.
Kronos Corporate
PIA Group started the Kronos Corporate Pty Ltd advisory business in 1997 and over time moved to 100% control of this business. In 2008 it sold its investment in this business to Emerald Grain. From 2008 until 2011 Kronos operated as an independent brand as the corporate advisory division of Emerald Grain.
Kronos specialises in M&A advisory, marketing, logistics and risk management related to commodity industries.
